When I came across RazoTha1st, I immediately thought to myself, “This guy is definitely versatile.” The first track that I’ve heard by Razo was “Lil Rockstar” which gave me those Lil Yachty vibes, but instead, with an uptempo instrumental. RazoTha1st is definitely the perfect blend of a vocalist and a rapper all wrapped up in one. After giving RazoTha1st a deeper listen, I found that I was right about him. He does in fact have that trap feel, but he can also switch up his word play from the trap rap to a little something for the ladies. So far, my favorite Razo track is YDKAGDT because of its realism and how relatable it can be for anyone listening to it.

I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know a little more about Razo and how he maintains his craft. Here’s what we had to say:

What does the name RazoTha1st mean to you?

“RazoTha1st is self explnatory. I feel like im the chosen one.”

How did you come up with it?

“How did I come up with it? … I was in the studio recording one of my first songs, “Supplies,” and I was wondering to myself….If im rapping, I need a stage name.
My nickname has always been Razo, so I started thinking about “KingLouisXiii” from a social studies book. Then I thought… RazoThaxiii?…And I thought to myself, I’M THE 1st!
So I stuck with that.”

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

“I feel like I have a unique sound, and I make many different types of music for many different audiences to hear.”

How did you get into the hip hop game?

“I got into it by meeting other underground artists in Stone Mountain. They made me want to keep going.”

What motivated you to keep going?

“What motivated me the most was when I was in the 7th grade preforming at my school’s pep-rally. Unfortunately, I ending up choking on the mic.
Later that same year, there was a talent show and I auditioned to redeem myself from the pep-rally performance.”

What was it like hearing the instrumental for “Lil Rockstar” for the first time?

“When I first heard the instrumental to Rockstar, I felt like it was just so perfect…. so soothing. I felt really comfortable with the beat.”

What are you looking to accomplish as an artist?

“As an artist I’m looking for greatness. I want to set a good example for the latin community. I want to accomplish a lot of things as an artist.
I want to be signed to the biggest label, make music with different artists at the top of the billboards, and hit a million views. I just want to accomplish so much.”

If you had to pick one favorite out of all of your songs, which one would it be?

“I would have to say “Lil Rockstar” because I’ve tried my best promoting it as much as I could with no help. I paid for the video, the mixing and mastering, the cover art and all.”

Fun Fact

“I prefer singing over rapping itself.”
