It has officially been four months since my last wave of new artists. I thought I’d bring you guys some new heat for the holiday season. This time around, I’ve decided to spice things up a little by showing some love to the people who bring visual ideas to life. Along side my usual artists and producers, we officially have photographers and videographers, all of which have raw talent.
After discovering a bunch of dope artists over the past week, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing a few in the process.
Here’s my list for this week:
Young A Geezy
Artist/ Songwriter/ Producer
Young A Geezy has a unique artist from Bryan, TX, that emphasizes melodies and ambience. He uses very soothing vocals over slight indie instrumentals, giving each of his tracks a relaxing, laid back feel. His tape Love Wavs is exactly what you’d expect, just from the title. He spreads peace, love and affection through his lyrics.
Decembur Jones, named after his birth month, December, is just that…. Cold As Fuck! He’s nothing short of what I’d expect from a NY artist. He has already discovered his signature sound and it shows through his choice of instrumentals. The raunchy uptempo artist spits effortlessly on his track 9 Lives, with his witty, nonchalant bars.
Happy Birthday Decembur Jones!
NV immediately gave me industry vibes with his track Lokita Freestyle. Not only did I love the instrumental, but the lyrics were perfect for the beat. NV definitely gives off the Weeknd meets PartyNextDoor meets Tory Lanes feel. There’s a lot of professionalism in his sound, considering he is his own producer and writes his own songs, he’s well on his way to the top.
Doc Strange, straight out of Bryan,Tx emphasizes his peculiar sound on all of his tracks. He definitely brings the southern vocals, but blends his different styles and textured instrumentals to create his distinct sound. Doc Strange is currently working towards building his brand LoveTheClinic with sounds and visuals for himself and other artists.
Rocko Seymour is officially the first videographer on ThaMightyMix.com. Rocko Seymour has an outstanding array of editing skills and the ability to bring any visual idea to real life. All of his work is unique and with each artist, he’s able to draw in his audience with a visual story, both with and without lyrics.
When I first heard Bene2x’s track “No3x,” he definitely gave off the east coast vibes. The Pittsburg artist spits relatable bars over exceptional beats. It’s pretty easy to feel what he’s saying on his tracks, simply because he raps about everyday life. One of his most relatable tracks would definitely be “Block Bih.” Bene2x has space to grow as an artist considering he’s only 18.
