How did you get into producing?
“I started off playing piano and guitar at a young age. I’ve recently graduated from York University’s jazz program with a focus on guitar.”
What makes you music unique?
“I try to apply jazz sensibilities to my hip-hop productions whenever I can.”
From where do you draw your inspiration?
“Musically, I am heavily influenced by producers like J Dilla, Nujabes, and 9th Wonder.”
What’s the best part about producing?
“The best part about producing music in this medium is the huge range of sonic possibilities I can explore.”
What are you up to now?
“Currently, I’m focusing on producing for a small handful of rappers, as well as the highly talented Toronto based neo-soul singer, Charlotte Fabro.
Shaolin’s “The Monk Vol. 3” will feature productions from me, and so will K-HAM CA’s upcoming “Bad Kidz” release.
“I’m one half of the hip-hop duo, Asiatics, with rapper Lo Kee.”
