Motivation Mondays

It’s Monday! Monday means that you get a fresh start. Monday has “mon” in it, which is French for “mine.” Don’t think of Monday as the start of a long week, but as a day set for yourself. Monday is no longer the start of the week, but is now seen as “MY DAY!” Let’s get this work!

10. Cut You Off (To Grow Closer) – Kendrick Lamar

Cut off the negative vibes for the week. Kendrick spit the perfect lyrics to get the week going. Cut You Off is a track from Kendrick Lamar’s fifth mixtape, Overly Dedicated, which dropped back on Sept. 14, 2010. Make sure you start your week off free of all negativity and if you have to…cut that a** off.

9. That Part – ScHoolboy Q Feat. Kanye West

“I just want the payyyyyyyyy-per…” Get ready to make your money with ScHoolboy Q and Kanye in your ears. Q released That Part as a single off of his latest album, Blank Face LP, which dropped on July 8, 2016. Be independent, don’t converse with the fake and get your paper.

8. What The Fuck Now – Tyler, the Creator

“Respect when you see himmmmm….” This track alone proves that change and growth are possible for any situation. Tyler has grown so much since his first set of projects, but what this track really points out is that you have to have fun with whatever it is that you do. It’s early in the week and it’s okay to have that I don’t give a f*ck attitude if your money isn’t involved!

7. Don’t Kill The Fun – Sevyn Streeter Feat. Chris Brown

Don’t Kill The Fun is perfect for the start of any day. The track has an uptempo sound, with two of my favorite R&B artists, Sevyn Streeter and Chris Brown. Don’t Kill The Fun was a single released by Sevyn Streeter back in 2015, which eventually was added to her album Should’ve Been There Pt. I, which dropped on July 17, 2015. So please, don’t allow anyone to kill your fun this week. Be happy and do great things!

6. Brand New – Pharrell Williams (Duet with Justin Timberlake)

Feel Brand New with Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake. If anything or anyone in the world could get you into a great mood, it’s Mr. Happy himself, Pharrell Williams. Brand New is a track off of Pharrell’s G I R L album which released on March 3rd, 2014. Like Pharrell said on the track, “A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins.” Keep going and you’ll get to where you want to be!

5. Bohemian Grove – Ab-Soul

“One time for the women… two times for the ladies…” Ab-Soul reminds us all that women need more recognition for the things that we do. We’re supposed to be free to make whatever decisions we choose, and to be able to do whatever makes us happy or brightens up our day as people. Bohemian Grove, a track from Ab-Soul’s Control System album, released back in May of 2011. Do what you want and live how you live!

4. Luchini (This Is It) – Camp Lo

Get rich and celebrate, it couldn’t be simpler. Most people have the same goal of becoming wealthy, but they have no plan to get there. Luchini reminds us that now is the time to create our plans on how we’re going to make it. Even though this track was released back in 1997 on the Uptown Saturday Night album, it is still very much a relatable track. Let’s get these riches coming in with Camp Lo’s Luchini.

3. Memories – David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi

Let go of your bad memories and make new ones this week. David Guetta can get anyone on the planet to dance, and with a little hint of Cudi, we have the perfect collaborative track! It’s only the beginning of the week and we have 6 more days to make some epic memories. Let’s get to it.

2. Overseas – Pro Era [Joey Bada$$ x Cj Fly]

“Overseas Trippin’…” Let’s get away with Joey Bada$$ and Cj Fly for a second. Overseas, off of the PEEP the aPROcalypse mixtape from back in Dec. 2012, is hands down one of the smoothest tracks I’ve ever heard. Cj Fly’s breakdown on this track will have you feeling like you’re flying. It’s almost every guy’s dream to take flights and to have groupies all over the world. So now is your chance to work on your goals. Save up, master your craft and work on yourself to make your dreams come true.

1. Down On My Luck – Vic Mensa

If you feel like you’ve been down on your luck, Vic Mensa will turn it all around with this track. It’s only Monday and today is your day to fix last week’s mishaps. Lets turn that bad luck into good, get back on the right track, and live everyday like it’s our last.

Happy Monday Guys! Enjoy the rest of your week!
