Run That Back: SAAAB STORIES – Action Bronson

Bam Bam, Mr. Baklava, Bronsonlino… whatever you may call him, we’re running it back with ACTION BRONSON!!! If anyone knows me, they’ll know that I absolutely love Action Bronson. I don’t love him because he’s from Queens, New York, or the fact that he sounds a bit like Ghostface Killah, but I love him for the fact that he may be the most down to Earth rapping chef on the planet….Not to mention that this guy is hilarious!

Action Bronson dropped SAAAB STORIES on June 11, 2013, which was a little over 3 years ago. The EP featured 7 tracks, including “72 Virgin” featuring Big Body Bes, “Triple Backflip,” “No Time,” “The Rockers” featuring Wiz Khalifa, my personal favorite, “Strictly 4 My Jeeps,” “Alligator,” which was another favorite of mine, and “Seven Series Triplets,” which featured Prodigy and Raekwon.

Strictly 4 My Jeeps” was released on May 14, 2013 as the first single off of the EP. The music video for Strictly 4 My Jeeps premiered on May 19, 2013. It was hands down one of the funniest music videos I have ever watched. It reminded of early 2000’s Eminem music videos.

I immediately fell in love with SAAAB Stories on the first play. Harry Fraud single handedly produced the EP, and with him being one of my favorite producers right now, the productions instantly pulled in my attention.

Sure, it was no Blue Chips, but it gave me a sense of Bronson’s versatility. Action Bronson not only has the slight sound of a 90’s rapper, he’s witty, incorporates his sense of humor, and even his other profession, being a chef, into his music. Many artists can’t balance having their focus on more than one profession at a time when it comes to the music industry, but Action Bronson on the other hand, blends them by using food as metaphors in his lyrics. The fact that he allows his skills in the kitchen to flow through his music, absolutely blows me away.

Overall, SAAAB Stories was a well pieced together short project, with the help of Harry Fraud. It helped me get through the summer of 2013, and I couldn’t have asked for a better collaboration. I’m definitely looking forward Mr. Wonderful’s next big project. I’m also anticipating Harry Fraud’s next big production.

Shoutout to @BamBamBaklava also known as Action Bronson and @HarryFraud !
