Yes, 2015 was indeed a year of great albums, but some albums that were released in the final quarter of the year, have yet to receive their recognition.
Bryson Tiller released “Trap Soul” on October 2nd which immediately started a buzz for Tiller. He basically blew up overnight with his two singles “Sorry Not Sorry,” and everyone’s favorite, “Don’t.” I can say, don’t sleep on Bryson Tiller. Not only can he sing, but he can also rap which puts him at the top of the list of artists to look out for in 2016.
The Game dropped “The Documentary 2” on October 9th and “The Documentary 2.5” exactly one week later. His album featured artists Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Dej Loaf, Future and Lil Wayne, just to name a few.
Justin Bieber released his album “Purpose” on November 13th, which became Justin’s fifth album to sell over 1 million copies. JB joined the list as third millionth copy selling album in 2015 following Adele, who has sold almost 6 million copies of “25” and Drake who has sold 1.12 million copies of “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.”
Logic’s sophomore album “The Incredible True Story” released the same day as Justin Bieber’s Purpose. Logic has a very unique flow which changed with ever project. “The Incredible Story” was unlike any of his previous albums, from the futuristic productions, to his witty lyricism.
Lastly, we have Chris Brown’s Royalty, which dropped right before Christmas on Dec. 18. With singles like Back to Sleep, Liquor, Zero and Little More (which features his daughter Royalty in the video), Chris is bound to have one hell-of-a 2016. The greatness of this album was bound to overlap into the new year. Great way to bring in 2016 Chris!
Here’s the video for Chris Brown’s single “Little More” starring the adorable Royalty.
